Dr. John Ayanian is the inaugural director of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (IHPI) — one of the world's largest groups of health care and health policy researchers, involving more than 450 experts from across the University of Michigan and partner organizations. He is the Alice Hamilton Collegiate Professor of Medicine in the University of Michigan Medical School, Professor of Health Management and Policy in the School of Public Health, and Professor of Public Policy in the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. In accordance with the research interests listed below, Dr. Ayanian has led numerous studies assessing access to care, quality of care, and health care disparities.
