Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Brent Williams is a Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School. He obtained his M.D. from the University of Illinois. His research focuses on complex care management and medical education for underserved populations. Dr. Williams currently serves as Director of the University of Michigan Medical School’s Global Health and Disparities Path of Excellence, which provides an experiential learning environment for medical students interested in careers that address health disparities in the United States and in developing countries. He also serves as medical director of the University of Michigan Complex Care Management Program and is active in building coalitions between University of Michigan Health System and community safety net organizations. He has actively integrated curricula focused on caring for underserved populations in the University of Michgian Medical School and Internal Medicine residency program. He also serves as Medical Director of the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County and maintains an active primary care general medicine practice.
