Rebecca Cheezum, PhD, MPH

Dr. Rebecca Cheezum is an Assistant Professor in Health Sciences in the School of Health Sciences at Oakland University, as well as the Coordinator of the university's Master of Public Health program. She received her Ph.D. in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and her M.P.H. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Boston University. Her research explores the way social and structural factors impact health among vulnerable populations, including low-income communities of color, youth of color, immigrants, and those who have experienced chronic homelessness and how marginalized communities can advocate for policy change in order to improve their health.
