Dr. Martina Caldwell is a board-certified physician of Emergency Medicine and a Women's Reproductive Health Disparities Investigator in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She completed her M.D. at Yale University. Her mission is to serve as a conduit between vulnerable communities and powerful institutions to disrupt inter-generational disadvantage. Dr. Caldwell’s primary research interest centers around designing evidenced-based, patient-centered interventions in the Emergency Department using a community-based participatory research approach that addresses health inequities regarding unintended pregnancy rates and effective contraception utilization, adverse birth outcomes, women’s sexual health, and health literacy. Her secondary interest is in promoting diversity and inclusion in the health care workforce.
