Jefferson East Inc. (JEI) represents 5 distinct neighborhoods along the east Jefferson corridor and provides programming within a boundary area of 18.4 square miles and represent approximately 42,120 residents. JEI’smission is growing Detroit’s east Jefferson corridor and its neighborhoods through facilitative leadership, collaborative partnership, innovative and impactful programming. Programs Include:

  • Housing Counseling and linking to support services;
  • Applying for a loan to the City of Detroit’s 0% Home Repair Program;
  • One-on-one financial counseling;
  • Workshops on building and restoring credit, property tax assistance, and foreclosure prevention;
  • Maintaining a clean corridor;
  • Preventing crime in neighborhoods;
  • Supporting small businesses and real estate development.
